Our Story

Rooted in Coldwater.
Reaching the World.

A congregation built on Scripture, shaped by community, and called to help people find their way back to God.

Who We Are

Helping People Find Their Way Back to God

That is our purpose — plain and simple. At Northview, we believe the journey toward God is one none of us has to walk alone.

We are an independent, non-denominational church led by a plurality of elders and anchored in the authority of Scripture. Every week, people from across Branch County gather here — some longtime followers of Jesus, others just beginning to wonder if faith could be real for them. All are welcome exactly as they are.

"Northview helps people know and follow Jesus wholeheartedly."

— Our Mission

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Matthew 11:28
What Defines Us

Faith. Place. Mission.

Three pillars that have shaped Northview for decades — and continue to draw people from across Branch County and beyond.

Worship & Scripture

Every Sunday we gather around God's Word — in Bible study groups at 9:15 am and a full worship service at 10:30 am. We celebrate the Lord's Supper every week as a community, and our Wednesday night Bible study keeps the conversation going throughout the week.

Gospel Hill

Set on more than 26 acres, our Gospel Hill Prayer Walk is a community-accessible outdoor space featuring three crosses, a bridge, gazebo, a natural-bowl amphitheater, and the newly dedicated Empty Tomb. It is open to anyone seeking a quiet place to pray, reflect, or simply encounter the story of Jesus.

Global Missions

A congregation of roughly one hundred members with an outsized reach. For more than two decades we have partnered with South Africa Christian Mission and others to ship Bibles, support disaster relief, and fund medical evangelism — including a single container of approximately 27,000 Bibles loaded in December 2021.

Our Beliefs

Anchored in Scripture. Open to All.

We are an independent, elder-led congregation — not affiliated with any denomination, but deeply connected to the larger family of believers who hold Scripture as their final authority. Our faith is simple, historic, and life-changing.

  • The Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God
  • Salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone
  • Repentance, confession, and baptism by immersion are responses of faith
  • The Holy Spirit indwells every believer
  • We celebrate the Lord's Supper every week as a community
  • Jesus is returning — and that changes everything

Northview has never seen its walls as the boundary of its ministry. For 38 years, families from across Branch County have gathered on our campus for our free Live Nativity — one of the region's longest- running Christmas traditions. And the Gospel Hill Prayer Walk is open year-round, for anyone who needs a place of peace.

Our natural-bowl amphitheater seats over a thousand and has hosted community concerts and special events that bring Coldwater together around shared faith and life.
